MacBook is here!
Well after many many hours of deliberating I have finally got my MacBook… and boy am I impressed… If I’d of known how easy to use, well made and perfectly weighted these things were I would of made my mind up a little sooner.
MacBook
I plumped for the MacBook Alloy (launched October 2008) with 2Ghz Core 2 Duo and 2Gb DDR3 RAM with a 160Gb hard drive, DVD-RW and LED screen…
I could not justify the extra £300 for a marginally bigger hard drive, illuminated keyboard and slightly quicker clock speed. For my day to day laptop this is more than sufficient.
I have also got myself a copy of iWork ’09 which I will review each app seperatley as it warrants a more in depth review and comparison between Pages, Word and OpenOffice writer as well as Excel and Powerpoint and their OpenOffice counterparts.
I did notice one this as soon as it had charged… with wireless ON and the brightness turned to 2 settings from the lowest I can easily get 6 hours usage out of a full charge! This is currently only available with NetBooks in the Windows world…
More importantly with the wireless turned OFF and the screen still turned down I can expect to get up to 7 hours of word processing, etc… Very very impressive…
All in all the MacBook has impressed me and I will post some further reviews once I have got to grips with all it has to offer…

If you in the market for a new mobile internet device chances are you’ve come across 3 big competitors – the iPhone, iPad (early May) or a Net book. All 3 devices are available for a similar price point (varying on specification of course). But most importantly is there a market for all these devices?

Well it’s here finally, I ordered mine from Amazon for a cool price of £22.99 delivered and for that you get a tiny little box that looks exactly how any apple user would expect.. Beautiful. Once opened (bloody shrinkwrap) you can upgrade within Leopard or do as I did reboot, hold down “C” and install

Well this is my next task… trying to get Leopard running on my standard PC hardware… I have been reading up and my hardware seems quite well supported… Once I have it sorted I will post a how-to… Of course this install will only be for self-education purposes and I do not condone installing Leopard
