iGoogle Tabs – left to top

If Google have changed your iGoogle homepage to have “tabs” on the left, here is how to change it back.

If, like me, you absolutely detest iGoogle having space wasting tabs on the left of your gadgets and RSS feeds then a simple URL change ‘could’ solve your problem.

Frustratingly, there is no option available to quickly customise tabs in this way. Being able to move them with your mouse or click of a button would have saved Google a lot of online bashing – as at least 90% of iGooglers are complaining about left side tabs. It wasn’t a change we asked for, therefore it should be optional.

To change, modify the url:
Tabs on top: http://www.google.com/ig?hl=all

top
Tabs on left: http://www.google.com/ig?gl=all
left

Of course, this worked for me – but try which URL works for you and then make that URL your default homepage.
