Nikon F80 Purchased!

I haved decided to take advantage of my FX based lenses (full frame) that I currently use on my Nikon DX range (50mm F1.8 and 28mm F2.8) – so I can use them on my film projects…

I picked up the pictured camera below for £21 on eBay this week…

So I have fitted it with my Nikkor 50mm F1.8 lens that I used as a portrait lens on my DX cameras, but this is now an ideal street photography combo… only downside is that now I have even more kit than I had before… just slightly different…

Stay tuned, up next is my development kit… what I used and where to buy it from to process your own photos at home!

Shooting on B&W film – Olympus OM-20

So I decided to get back to basics… but how… simple answer film photography!

I am going to be taking a GCSE then A Level in Photography so I thought – hell why not add this type of imaging to my portfolio… So armed with my request I decided to ask my dad to lend me his 1983 Olympus OM-20 with 28mm, 50mm and 70-210mm lenses.

So I am now the owner of an Olympus OM-20 camera and some lenses to go with…

I am shooting exclusively on Ilford HP5+ film (135/400ISO).

I will post some images up once I have processed some negs…

I intend to shoot, process and scan my own prints, so keep your eyes peeled for new articles. I might even blog about my attempts/errors/gotchas when processing films.

Until next time…

For about the past 3-4 years I have been shooting with a Nikon D60 and D80 combo… I had took some amazing images, had great times, but technology never stands still and I felt it was time for a trade in and upgrade…

So then that left me with a choice – Nikon D90 (at a bargin price) or Nikon D7000 (not such a bargin in comparision) – the choice was made simple – D7000 – now let me explain why… Continue reading
