Kit
This page is dedicated to showing you all what kit I use for photography and what I feel offers best value for money…
As of now (October2009) my kit is as below:
DSLR:
Nikon D60 & Nikon D80
Flash:
Nikon Speedlight SB-400
Lens:
Nikon 50mm F1.8
Nikon 18-55mm AF-S VR F3.5-5.6
Nikon 55-200mm AF-S VR F3.5-5.6
Filters:
All lenses always carry a UV filter on for protection and anti-glare factors.
I also carry a 52mm Circular Polariser, 52mm Skylight 1B Filter, ND Filter and 4 Closeup Filters (+1,+2,+4 and +10 Macro)
Battery and Power:
I carry my primary Nikon original battery (EN-EL9) and also 2 spare aftermarket batteries which were bought of Amazon for approx £20 the pair.
My Nikon D80 only every needs one battery! It lasts forever!
I only ever use the official Nikon batter charger with all my batteries.
Kit bag:
I use Lowepro kit exclusively as I have always found them to be bulletproof with build quality and design…
I use a Lowepro Rover AW2 for my main bag (features include an all weather cover and tripod mount) and then a Rezo 250 for my lighter shoulder bag..
Tripods:
I use a BlackDiamond Slick 88 tripod (the professional range) which was donated to me by my uncle who is a pro photographer…
I also use a bog standard monopod from Jessops.com for my day to day shoots as the tripod is rather heavy to carry around.
Memory:
I use Transcend 4Gb SDHC Cards (Class 6 – 133x) for reliable and trouble free shooting… I find I can reliably take my 3FPS for 100 JPG’s on any of my 4 cards…
Thats my kit, comment back if you use other stuff or rate my Nikon gear…
I have used the D40, D40x and D50 before now and the D60 I feel has the best weight vs features…
My D80 is also useful as it has the ability to take older lenses and still autofocus, as well as focus braketing.
