Mobile Computing… the way forward

If you in the market for a new mobile internet device chances are you’ve come across 3 big competitors – the iPhone, iPad (early May) or a Net book.

All 3 devices are available for a similar price point (varying on specification of course). But most importantly is there a market for all these devices?

MacBook is here!

Well after many many hours of deliberating I have finally got my MacBook… and boy am I impressed… If I’d of known how easy to use, well made and perfectly weighted these things were I would of made my mind up a little sooner.

I plumped for the MacBook Alloy (launched October 2008) with 2Ghz Core 2 Duo and 2Gb DDR3 RAM with a 160Gb hard drive, DVD-RW and LED screen…

I could not justify the extra £300 for a marginally bigger hard drive, illuminated keyboard and slightly quicker clock speed. For my day to day laptop this is more than sufficient.

Mac OS X on standard PC…

Well this is my next task… trying to get Leopard running on my standard PC hardware…leopard_box

I have been reading up and my hardware seems quite well supported…

Once I have it sorted I will post a how-to…

Of course this install will only be for self-education purposes and I do not condone installing Leopard on non-apple hardware….
