Today I finally got round to meeting up with fellow Instagram users of the @igersbirmingham group.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. I wondered how many people would shoot on phones only, how many people were actual photographers for a living and even just how many people would turn up.
I decided that I’d sign up to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens Instameet and set off in good time.
The format worked really well, brief holding room where I was able to meet other users and found out I actually happened to sit on a table with two other teachers in fact, they know my colleagues from my own workplace! Then a brief overview of the time during the meet. Basically today it was just over one hour of free roam around the gardens prior to the public being let in.
I decided to wander around and try and shoot a range of different photos. My results are shown below:
I really enjoyed the morning. It encouraged me to take different photos to my normal comfort zone. Most importantly I was able to speak to other photographers and Instagram users.
